Your Cat's personality Type

Cats, much like other animals, have their good days and terrible ones, yet generally, their main personality does not change too much. There are lethargic felines, hyper felines, chill cats and hyper cats, picky cats (that will eat only premium grade cat food) and your not-so-choosy ones (which will scarf down any old thing). Needless to say, I exclusively suggest a Premium cat food above all else. A leading brand is life's Abundance. A premium level cat food is essential for your animal's well being, in my opinion.

Stature
All in all, a relaxed cat is one who looks, just that, relaxed! He or she will often be lying down, with his paws stretched out, sleeping, or with his stomach exposed. If he is walking around, his fur will be flat, and he will either be rubbing on furniture or his eyes will appear squinted.
By way of comparision, a stressed feline will often appear rigid, their fur might be fluffier than normal, and their back may look more arched.

Tails
Felines whom are relaxed will have their tails carried high, whereas cats that are sick will let their tails droop, as if to say – “everything hurts on me, including this thing.”

Meowing
As a general rule of thumb, these animals meow for a plethera of various reasons, such as to show pleasure (as in when they see you getting ready to pour them some cat food), to find other felines in a house or to find possible mates when in heat or to indicate their own location (as in when they get locked inside a closet accidentally). Meowing is generally seen as the opposite of hissing.

Choosing just the right Dog Food

Here is a great artice from Lori Matthews who researches health, nutrition and wellness. She enjoys writing articles on health for both people and pets. Please click here if you would like more information on Lifes Abundance healthy dog food
When it comes to taking care of your pet dog, it is important to make sure that you are paying attention to the dog food you give him/her. All dog food is not created equal. Instead of just going with the cheapest or the first brand you see on the store shelves, it is important to make sure that you are getting the best for the dog. There are a lot of dog foods out there that are not as good for pets as they could or should be. It is vital to make sure that the treats and supplements that are being bought for the dog are just as healthy.

The first thing that you will want to take into consideration when looking at buying dog food is the list of ingredients. If corn, wheat, or soy is the first ingredient listed then you will want to go with a different kind of food or a different brand altogether. This is because the first ingredient that is listed is the ingredient that makes up most of the food. Corn, wheat, and soy should never be the main ingredient in your dog's diet. The best thing to be listed as the main ingredient in the dog food is that of protein from an animal source. A healthier choice is, chicken meal as to “poultry” meal

You will need to avoid things such as artificial flavors or preservatives. Preservatives such as BHA, BHT, and Ethoxyquin have been proven to be extremely harmful to dogs when used over a long period of time. When preservatives are needed, natural sources such as vitamins are the best things to use. Even though this means that you will have to spend a little extra time in the research of your dog food label, it is well worth it for the health of your dog.

Also make sure that you know just how exactly the food is manufactured, where it is manufactured, and whether or not the company has high quality control procedures. Just as making sure the ingredients are proper for your dog, it is important to make sure that where the food is being made and how it is being made is beneficial to your dog as well. You will also want to make sure that you are double-checking to make sure whether there have ever been any recalls on the brand of dog food that you are looking at in order to make sure that your pet is completely safe.

Since it is important to make sure that you are caring for your dog just as you would a child, you want to make sure that you are feeding it the best food possible. The healthier the food is that the dog is eating the better its life will be. A long healthy life is the result of a well balanced diet and exercise routine. The immune system of a dog needs the right food in order to fight off free radicals that will come naturally with age. And since your dog ages much faster than a person.

The charges come after a complaint by one of Chodl customers who stated they were missing over $110,000 in jewelry and related personal items. Chodl stands accused of stealing jewelry, artwork, carpets, clothing items and other property from her said customers, some of which she is accused of pawning. The Medina females whose possessions were possibly stolen by the defendent called police December 5th after she found the wedding ring and watch missing, she also stated the Chodl who had walked her 3 canines for six years and one other person had access to her house where the criminal activity took place.

it appears from the news reports in question that the authorities inspected Chodl’s apartment after obtaining a warrant where they then discovered certain stolen property items.

Protecting your Cat or Dog in the Winter

This superb article initially appeared in the November 2008 Healthy Pet Net Newsletter, which is dedicated to the health of dogs, cats and other companion animals. It has been partially edited for length purposes:

The cold winds of the holiday season are once again beginning to howl through America. As a result of that, certain regions are experiencing sooner and larger than expected snowfalls. So, what can you do to make totally certain that your dog or cat is prepared for these toupher months?
Well for one thing, if your dog or cat happens to suffer from arthritis, be certain not to leave him/her outside for long. Just as with people, these colder temperatures may make arthritic joints even more rigid and painful.
All in all, things like rock salt can often sometimes collect in their pads and cause irritation.
Furthermore, check outside food and water bowls often during the day for signs of freezing. For a modest price, you may get a premium heated bowl to make totally certain that your dog or cat will always have access to tepid water and warm food even when the temperature drops. Speaking of food, it helps if you feed them premium cat food from Life's Abundance or dog food as this will give a big assist to their metabolism (as well as immune system), which will of course help them bear the burden of the toupher weather conditions. If you are interested in premium cat food or dog food you may wish to visit Petfoodretail.com as they have some of the best.
Try to bear in mind that both dogs and cats have to burn more calories to stay warm during the cold months, especially if your pet will be frequently outdoors. Consider increasing the amount of food you feed by 10–20% overall, says holistic veternarian Dr. Jane Bicks, a best-selling author.

House Dust related to Cat Illness?

Hyperthyroidism has become an oft-diagnosed sickness in felines in recent years, unfortunately. New research studies appear to implicate an environmental source, according to the September 2007 Healthy Pet Net newsletter.

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers, also known as PBDE’s, are chemicals used only in recent years as a flame retardant. It has have been proven to cause injury to the feline nervous system, while also interfering with the production of various hormones.
Scientists are worried that these chemicals may also lead to similar symptoms in humans as well. More detail can be found at
The Cat News Weblog

Although they have now been eliminated from current production, many products which contain them, such as fabrics, furniture, foams, some plastics and other items, nonetheless still have them, sadly enouph.
The evidence appears to indicate that if your cat or kitten is suffering from hyperthyroidism, it may be because of an object in your huse – one that could be removed, and perhaps decrease the severity of the illness.

Finding an ideal Cat

Even though cats my generally be a low-maintenance animal (relatively speaking), they nonetheless do need some time and care from their owners.
Though may not have to be taken out for a walk per say, they still need a substantial commitment from you so always keep that in mind when you are planning on adopting one.
It is easy to make an emotional or impulsive choice here because Baby animals, and particularly a innocent-eyed kittens, may be virtually impossible to pass up.
If you happen to be looking at a kitten you should certainly consider that it is a stimuli-seeking little bundle of energy, which is somewhat of a contrast from the rather composed demeanor of certain adult cats.
That is just the reality here, but I personally love adult cats too so it ultimately depends on your expectations.
But of course, even an adult cat will need a considerable amount of attention. All felines are avid scratchers so it is very important to provide natural type surfaces so that this normal, instinctive behavior does not turn out to be a destructive and irritating one.
Also note that different types of cats bring different attributes to the mix.
For example, Persians cats are usually more laid back while Orientals a lot more active as well as being vocal.

Purebreds are sometimes prone to have certain genetic disorders, so be sure to ask questions if using a breeder. As a general rule of thumb, pet stores are not the best location to buy a cat due to possible genetic complications, not to mention the relative lack of socialization that most felines obtain in pet stores.
Also be aware of the fact that Purebred kittens can be every bit as expensive as their canine counterparts, usually from between five and eight hundred dollars. An adoption is considerable less expensive at about fifty dollars or so. But keep in mind that these starting costs are actually quite small when compared to the long-term
expense of food, grooming, toys, kitty litter and eventual veternary visits. In fact any planning about bringing a cat into your household should realistically keep in mind the recurring costs of pet ownership.
if you happen to live in the northern parts of the United States, cats will breed during the spring & summer months, therefore late summer and fall is an ideal time of the year to adopt an animal.
Also keep in mind that you can cut down on veternarian visits later if you feed your cat a premium grade cat food from the outset.
